Quest starts out in his class, paying attention and being quite a model student.
He enjoys watching classmates.
As time goes on, being 'an action dog', Quest begins to fidget.
I give him treats, to hold his attention, but eventually, .....
.... his silliness takes over and he rolls onto his back.
Soon, if no one comments or seems to be paying attention to him - he starts to yodel.
After each yodel, he checks to see if people are paying attention to him. There is nothing he likes better than an appreciative audience.
He also likes to watch what ever classmate happens to be doing the course. Watching them in his upside down position seems to amuse him even more.
"Did you hear me, mom? Good yodel huh!"
That's my boy! Always the clown. When he is on the course, he has other things that he enjoys. When he used to do the course on leash, he would grab the leash and shake it, if he didn't think I was moving fast enough.
Another favorite activity is when we pass the sign that instructs us to go at a fast pace. As I start to run with him, he can seldom resist bouncing ahead of me instead of staying at my side. Most fun of all is when he manages to distract the trainer when she is instructing us on how to better negotiate the course. Quest gets bored - he is not much for verbal instruction periods. He just wants to get going again and he will actually bat her with a paw or bounce at her and poke her. He loves Karin and it is all in fun, as far as he is concerned. Will we ever compete? I have no idea. Is he having fun? There is no doubt about that, and that is what it is all about for us.
